This is a post-to-post starting newel, and is generally used at the base of the stair. This is a post-to-post intermediate or second floor landing newel retaining the Hampton approach. It features a 13” top block, 16” turning, and 23” bottom block, and is generally used as an intermediate newel on a stair way landing, but may also be used as a second floor landing newel, or starting newel if you prefer. This Hampton style newel has a slight profile adjustment: it features a 10” top block, retains the 16” turning, and has a 26” bottom block providing additional cutting room if needed.

This newel is designed for an over-the-post rail system. It may be used as a starting newel, or as an intermediate or second floor landing newel. The Hampton series offers you more design or activity on the turning, and blends nicely with the 5200 series This is an over-the-post Hampton style newel with a tapered top. It generally is used as a supporting newel for long handrails on steps, or balconies.

This post-to-post starting newel is simply a larger version of the 3500. The Hampton profile is retained at 3 ½” and blends nicely with the larger 5300 series balusters. This post-to-post intermediate or second floor landing newel retains the Hampton profile at 3 ½“, but with a longer top block (10”), the same turning size (16”), and a longer bottom block (26”). This 3 ½” Hampton style newel is similar to the 4503, yet has a slight profile adjustment: it has a longer top block (13”) providing more range for rail connection, retains a 16” turning, and has a smaller bottom block (23”).

Balusters

Choosing a baluster profile is another exciting part of the installation process. Your stair system’s entire effect is largely determined by which baluster you choose. There are many different profiles available for you to pick from, which will enable you to tie the whole “picture” together regarding a major focal point in your home. All of our baluster profiles are available in Primed, Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, Soft or Hard Maple, American Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Beech, Walnut, and Mahogany.
