This post-to-post newel retains the Colonial approach, yet with a shorter turning (17”) and a longer bottom block (22”). These profile adjustments provide you with more cutting room at the base of the newel for cases when it is needed (like when mounting a newel on a knee wall). |
This is another post-to-post newel also retaining the Colonial approach, featuring a 13“ top block. It is generally used as an intermediate newel on a stairway landing, but may also be used as a second floor landing newel, or starting newel if you prefer. |
This Colonial style newel is a second floor landing newel, yet features a 10” top block. |

Balusters
Choosing a baluster profile is another exciting part of the installation process. Your stair system’s entire effect is largely determined by which baluster you choose. There are many different profiles available for you to pick from, which will enable you to tie the whole “picture” together regarding a major focal point in your home. All of our baluster profiles are available in Primed, Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, Soft or Hard Maple, American Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Beech, Walnut, and Mahogany. As with our other items, please let us know if you cannot find the type of wood that you’re looking for. We will do our best to provide you with the species that you need.
